"What is Qabalah/Kabbalah?"
Kabbalah/Qabalah is the oldest and most influential wisdom in all of human history. Qabalah reveals all the laws, spiritual and physical, that govern the soul and the universe.
Qabalah answers questions, creates order from chaos, and answers the ultimate questions that everyone asks at some point in their lives - Who are we? Where do we come from? Why are we here?
Qabalah is thousands of years old and its first major text, the Sepher Yetzirah (Book of Formation), predates the birth of christ. The image of The Tree Of Life, which embodies the Kabbalistic system, was first recorded in 13th century spain and is symbolic of the human being and its relationship with the universe and the divine. The 10 Sephiroth (spheres of the Tree of Life function as bridges, connecting you and the finite universe with infinite and ultimate deity.
Kabbalah (K) is a more jewish form of the discipline, incorporating hebrew words and similar to the one Madonna studies. Qabalah (Q) which is the western mystic tradition and includes astrology, tarot and past life regression. Its adaptable to any lifestyle and you dont have to study all these things to understand it. However, Qabalah isnt just something that is learnt, its something that is lived.
The three variant spellings all refer to essentially the same thing, but it is a matter of convention to use Kabbalah for the Jewish tradition, Cabala for the Christian tradition, and Qabalah for the hermetic / non-denominational tradition.
